Auckland U published their e-cigarette findings in “Groundbreaking research highlights the potential of e-cigarettes” where they confirm that “e-cigarettes have potential as a method to help people stop smoking, in the same ways as a nicotine inhalator” based on a study performed with 40 volunteers who were alternatively given electronic cigarettes, nicotine patches and nicotine inhalators. They made it a point that they had preferred electronic cigarettes the most, because it was the closest thing to smoking a real cigarette and therefore satisfied that gratifying feeling of exhaling smoke, while at the same time reducing the nicotine dosage.
