Tips to Prolong Your E-Cigarette Battery Life

If your electronic cigarette batteries don’t seem to last as long as they should, it may be because of your inadvertent habits. You can extend the life of all your e-cigarette batteries by following these simple yet helpful tips:

  • Remove the e-cigarette batteries from their USB or wall charger as soon as they are done recharging to avoid damage due to overcharging
  • Avoid blowing vapor directly into the e-cigarette as it may damage the sensor or other internal electronics
  • Do not use USB chargers from other brands with your electronic cigarettes since they may have slightly different output specifications which could damage your battery
  • Remove any cartridges when storing your electronic cigarettes for extended periods of time
  • Avoid storing a electronic cigarette that is discharged
  • Never attempt to open or disassemble a electronic cigarette battery
  • Do not use a electronic cigarette battery that was immersed in water as corrosion may short-circuit it and create a fire hazard

Just like with any other lithium ion type battery, electronic cigarette batteries need to be taken care of to maximize their life cycle.  E-cigarette batteries with a higher output voltage (V) will produce more vapor and batteries with a higher current capacity rating (mAh) will last longer before they need to be recharged.

After many previous failed attempts at quitting smoking I stumbled upon electronic cigarettes and decided to give them a try. It has been five years now that I smoked my last tobacco cigarette and I am 100% nicotine-free!
